If you get the job, will you be able to advance and become a better person allround? The ability to advance is one thing that you will want to look for in your new job.  If you are the type that regularly find yourself setting goals that you would like to achieve, goals like higher pay or a position in the management, you may want to work for a type of company where there is opportunity to advance. To do this, look out for companies that  promote from within.  Promotion from within in a company is what gives you a better chance of advancing.  In fact, willingness to advance is something that potential employers like to hear, so be sure to mention your hope and will to advance in your job interviews.

Long Term

When searching for a new job, you should try to look out for those that are intended to be a long-term position.  Long-term positions are ideal especially if you are looking to quit your current, stable job.  They are also very ideal if you rely on your job income in supporting your family.  You will surely want to have and possibly need a type of income not only right away, but income that can  be relyed on for months or possibly years to come. This is why temporary positions may not be in your best interest, since jobs that only lasts one or two months may be unable to provide you with job security that you want and need.

Good Pay

Good remuneration is another thing  you should look for in a new job.  Unless you are sure its the best option, you should try and refrain from taking a pay cut.  If you are able to receive additional benefits that you currently do not have, then a pay cut may be worth it, but it is strongly advised that you proceed with caution.  Before you embark on search for a new job, you should create a budget for yourself. Creating a budget will help you determine how much money you need to make. And doing this will ensure that you are able to find a type of job that will allows you to adequately pay your bills and support your family efficiently.

Location

Job location is a very important feature you have to consider when searching for  a new job. Location might not be an issue to you if you are willing to travel or relocate, but you should take your possible commute into consideration.  Jobs that are a ways away from your home may require extra travel time and possibly taking you away from your family.  You will also need to consider the cost of transporting yourself or examine the cost of gasoline and wear on your vehicle if you have one.

Health Insurace

Health insurance is something else that you may want to look when searching for a new job. Although it may seems unnecessary, you should always keep health insurance in mind.  Not all employers provide their employees with health insurance coverage and many companies requires some waiting period before health insurance coverage can be acquired.  If you are unable to get health insurance through a family member, such as your spouse, you should try to keep this in mind and never forget “Health Is Wealth”.
